注释：
条例508要求联邦机构确保包括残疾人在内的所有用户对信息技术获取的需求。大约百分之八的用户群体患有残疾，这可能使他们很难或不可使用传统的网站。大约4％的人有视力相关的残疾，2％的人有与运动有关的问题，1％的人有与听力有关的残疾还有不到1％的人有与学习有关的残疾。
遵守第508条使联邦残疾雇员能够访问和使用与提供其他人类似的信息和数据服务。这也提高了残疾公众从联邦机构获得信息或服务的能力。
