Some people hold that we should spend amount of time and money on the protection of wild animals. Some people argue that they should be spent on human populations. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

I quite approve of the standpoint that a large quantity of time and money should be poured into protecting wild animals, which traditionally refer to undomesticated animal species. Actually wild animals are severely affected by human activities. Accordingly, the protection of wild animals has become a matter of continuing concern; a significant investment of time and money should be put into protecting wildlife.

Around the world, a considerable wild animal species become extinct daily due to human activities, which have negative effects on wild animals. Firstly, since gathering wildlife is still a main food source in some parts of the world, over hunting and illegal trade negatively disrupt the world natural diversity. Secondly, with millions of different species living in forests, deforestation also poses a risk to the survival of wild animals. Meanwhile, over population and overbuilding take away natural habitats of wild animals. Thirdly, as a result of pollution and climate change caused by humans, living conditions of wildlife are deteriorating.

Foundations, governments, businesses, communities, and individuals should invest heavily in protecting wildlife because a healthy and sustainable future for all is only possible on the planet where wild animals can coexist with human beings peacefully. To be specific, substantial sums of money should be used to protect wild species and restore their habitats. Besides, it is worthwhile to expend the effort to save, protect and stand up for wildlife because the biodiversity is of great importance to maintain the balance of ecosystems. Otherwise, the drastic loss of biodiversity threatens not only the functionality of many ecosystems, but also human well-being, which is inextricably linked to the existence of intact ecosystems.

All in all, in many respects, protecting wild animals is vital for humans at present and in the future. Therefore, it’s worthy of spending a great deal of money and time on the protection of wild animals.
