一、element的特殊用法
in sb's element 指某人适应环境,得心应手
it is hard to be in my element.
近: orientate/ blend in with +place
orientate oneself to + place
eg. I have tried to orientate myself to the class, but all in vain.
blend in with sb/sth
it is indicative of blending in with this group being not a brain surgery.
the elements 坏天气、表示(遭受团体里其他人非议)的一群人。
he doesn't go shipping because of the elements.
In the school, elements learning well, are against students who dislike learning.
out of one's element 不得其所
I am out of the element in this college.我在这所大学显得格格不入
二、几个表示“侵入/占”的词。
1:intrude 这个表示“侵入”,尤指表示“侵犯某人的私生活”之类的,常见搭配intrude on/upon/into sth
如:I hate to the people intruding into/on/upon others' private life.
2:encroach指对权利/财产的“侵入”,搭配:encroach upon/into
I am sorry to encroach upon your copyright.
3:infringe 尤指对法律“的侵犯” 搭配:infringe on/upon
He infringes on the law and is arrested.

三、三个关于“蔑视/不屑于..”的单词。
1:scorn (U)带有憎恶和愤怒的意思。
n. 蔑视/藐视。搭配:with scorn
he felt scorn for(注意介词搭配)his classmates.
分享一个固定搭配:pour/heap scorn on sth对...嗤之以鼻
v. he scorns his classmates.
它有它的形容词形式:scornful
搭配:be scornful of
如:he is scornful of his classmates.
2:disdain (U)蔑视 轻视,尤指看不起自己卑微的事和人。
n:with disdain
he treats his classmates with disdain.
v:蔑视he disdains
his classmates.
它的形容词是disdainful
如:he is disdainful/scornful of his classmates.
3:contempt (U)轻视/蔑视
尤指极度厌恶和憎恶。因此可以跟utter/deep contempt
如:he shows utter/deep contempt for his classmates.
但是它也有一个褒义意思 表示“藐视困难和风险”。
如:his contempt for risks 他完全蔑视风险。
分享它的两个相关形容词。
第一个是contemptuous 傲视的,蔑视的。
he is openly contemptuous of his classmates.
第二个是contemptible卑鄙的/无耻的。

四、关于判罪
法院判某人的罪(较正式): sb is convicted of+罪名,the jury/court found sb the guilty of +罪名
eg. she was convicted of murder./the court found her the guilty of murder.
若是警察判某人的罪,为sb is charged of +罪名,the police brings a charge of+罪名+against sb(应该guilty和convict较正式,用于警察这不合适)
he was charged of theft. /the police bring a charge of murder against him.
若某人是无罪的,清白的有三个句型
sb is cleared of sth
sb is acquittaled
the court found sb not the guilty of+罪名
eg. She is cleared of murder./she is acquiitaled./ the court found her not the quilty of murder.
五、努力干活,拼命做事”的单词或词组
1:slave away at sth. 像奴隶一样(任劳任怨地)干活。
如:I slave away at bracing myself for theTEM4.
2:toil (不及物动词)或者 toil away at sth
如:He is always toiling away at this task.
3:roll up one's sleeves 捋起袖子加油干(表示要努力做某事的意思)
eg. As a undergraduate who gears up for graduate entrance exam, we should roll up our sleeves to focus on studying.

eg. Everyone in our class is struggling bracing themselves for TEM-4. - strive to do
eg. Everyone in our class strives to brace themselves for TEM-4.
六、consumer与customer的区别
consumer指买了东西或服务但不一定是自己用,倾向于表消费者权利
eg. Consumers have rights to know the reasonable prices.
customer是指买了商品或服务一定会使用的,就是我们平常说的顾客之意

七、imminent,approaching 和adjacent的辨析
三者都有表示“接近/临近”的意思。但是前两者是这时间上的临近。即可以相互替换。
如:the deadline is imminent/approaching so he is about to roll up his sleeves.
后者adjacent是指地理位置上的接近,毗邻。
如:the building is adjacent to the house.
八、表达某事很重要的句型或词汇
1:priority 动词:prioritize
eg. The government's priority is the employment.
because we don't prioritize our health,
2:be at the top of agenda在议题最上面,表示“某事很重要”
eg. employment needs to be at the top of agenda.
3:sth is of paramount importance.
张璐在今年的记招上翻过这样一句话:employment is paramount importance.就业是天大的事儿。
4:形容词:vital/essential/crucial/critical
- sth cannot be underestimated/Never can sth be underestimated/the importance of sth cannot be underestimated
Never can psychological health be underestimated. - come first
