Today is Thursday.
Papa taught Sarah to plow field. When she felt tired, Papa was going to finish the chores. Sarah sat on the grass with us, looking at Papa. She asked us how the winter was like here. Caleb told her it was cold and the wind was so strong that Papa had to tie our house with the barn for protecting them from being blown away. I was afraid Sarah would be worry about the weather. So I told her that we could stay in the warm house and did many happy things. Sarah felt hot and asked us if we often went swimming. We told her we were unable to swim, which shocked her. She pulled us up and ran to the cow pond. She took off her dress and dived into the water. Caleb and I tried to float on the water like Sarah. She taught us the skills. Caleb learnt fast and I could just try hard to not sink. When we climbed the bank, dried ourselves and lay in the grass again, the cows watched, their eyes sad in their dinner-plate faces. Sarah smiled.
