① in the family way
多用于口语，有了孩子才有一个真正的家庭
Did you hear the good news? Emily is in the family way!
你知道那个好消息了吗，艾美莉怀孕啦！
② be having/carrying a baby/child
使用该短语时，需注意时态是进行时。
I have the good news for you that I am having/carrying a baby/child.
我有好消息要告诉你，我怀孕了。
③ expecting
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first baby.
哈里王子和梅根·马克尔正期待着他们第一个孩子的到来。
④ eating for two
不是“吃两人份”，而是“（为了）两个人吃”，即自己和肚子里的宝宝。
Have some more. You're eating for two.
多吃点， 你现在是两个人吃了。
⑤ have a blessed event
“有喜事（指怀孕）”，这与中文“家里有喜、家有喜事”相对应。
She is about to have a blessed event.

委婉语，暗示怀孕。这里的delicate指的是（由于怀孕）而身体脆弱。
