Today is Thursday.
I still have something to say about the Journey to The West. Why does Wu Chengen create four characters in the fiction? I think they represent the four characters of one person.
The Monk Tang means one's will. He is the most important character in the story and will is the most important character of one person. He leads the team to the target and will leads one person to his target of life.
Sun Wukong means one's strength, courage and capability. He is the most mighty member of this team. But sometimes he would do something wrong or dangerous to their journey. At that time, Monk Tang or the will is the only one who can control him and conduct him to the right way.
Zhu Bajie means one's laziness and fear. When he faces some difficulty, he always thinks of quit. He always wants to take a break. At that time, Sun Wukong will scold him and Monk Tang will encourage him, which is like that one person need his strong will and courage to overcome the difficulty from outside and the laziness from inside.
Monk Sha means one's tolerance. He is the most unimpressive member of the team. His task is carrying the luggage. One person cannot always dash towards his target. Sometimes he need to slow down. Monk Sha is the resting place for the other three. He can make them feel safe and relax when they are tired. He makes them regain the power to speed again.
Do you agree with me?
